  • Valid disability certification issued by authorities

Additionally, an escort traveling with a disabled passenger may receive concessional fares, making travel easier for those who require assistance.

Launched as Part of Welfare Push

The scheme was officially rolled out on March 18, 2026, as part of the state’s broader welfare initiatives aimed at improving public transport access for all sections of society.

It follows the success of earlier free travel schemes for women, further expanding inclusive benefits.
